At Weber’s Insurance we do two wheelers! Yes, we can provide Prescott, Arizona bikers with the best, most affordable motorcycle insurance.

So, for you road warriors who would rather 2-wheel than 4-wheel, we can make sure your bundle-of-joy (uh, the bike, not the baby!) is fully covered for collision, theft and other forms of damage. And we are not just talking about those big Harley Hogs with huge pipes; we can also cover your home-to-office Moped and the family ATVs.

But before you start your bike’s engine contact Weber’s Insurance to discuss your motorcycle insurance coverage.

Please allow us to suggest some motor-cycling safety tips that will make your rides safer and a whole lot more fun.

Keep a Clear Head. Please, use a helmet at all times. Motorcycle accidents expose you to additional physical risk and we recommend your wear a Department of Transportation certified helmet so you don’t damage your noggin if you go down. A helmet can increase your chances of surviving a motorcycle accident.

Put a well-fitting and comfortable helmet on your head every time you ride; a full-face helmet can protect your eyes, nose and mouth. Please, find a motorcycle helmet you like and strap it on before you fire-up your two-wheeler for a spin.

Get Some Motorcycle Accessories. We don’t necessarily recommend you wear leathers during every ride, but having protective boots, gloves, pants and a jacket specifically designed for bikers can provide some additional safety.

Leather is by far the preferred clothing for bikers and not just because it looks cool but because it can provide an extra layer of tough protection. So, be cool, like the Fonz, and wear protective clothing every time you ride.

Get Noticed on the Road. When you ride, be seen by other drivers on the road. Many motorcycle accidents occur because automobile drivers fail to see motorcyclists.

Brighten up you road show. Wear bright, reflective clothing and remember, keep the headlight on at all times.

Slow down and signal every move you are making. Get noticed at all times and you will improve your safety. Operate your motorcycle as if no one can see you.

Assume you are invisible at all times. When you ride, chances are, you are the smallest vehicle on the road. Make others notice you by taking positive actions to be seen.

Understand your Cycle. Before you strap on the leathers and helmet be certain you know your machine, top-to-bottom.

If you are new to motorcycling, practice, practice, practice, then, practice some more in areas with limited traffic so that you can become familiar with your bike’s personality.

You bike’s personality has a lot to do with its weight, power, size, stopping distance at various speeds and color.

Before you hit the road become completely comfortable with controlling your machine at stops, in traffic and especially when turning in front of oncoming traffic. Oh, one more thing…practice riding in the rain at low speeds. Road conditions will change your bike’s operating performance dramatically. We don’t recommend you ever ride in snow…YIKES!

In short, the law requires drivers to carry minimum coverages as well as documented proof that these coverages meet or exceed the amounts required to compensate others for bodily injuries and property damage in the event they cause an accident.

Liability Policies must be maintained by drivers with an Arizona insurance company with established minimum liability coverage limits.

The minimum coverages are $15,000 (one person bodily injury), $30,000 (two or more persons bodily injury) and $10,000 in property damage coverage.

Law enforcement officers will ask for written proof of coverages in the event of a traffic stop or an accident.

Owner and Insurance Companies must provide proof of coverage upon registration of vehicle or, within 30 following registration. However, the law requires submission of proof of coverage by owners.

What is I don’t carry insurance the meets the requirements of law? Failure on the part of an owner to maintain minimum Arizona car insurance coverage may lead to revocation of vehicle registration and a suspension of one’s driver’s license. Reinstatement is a result of paying a fine and written proof of coverage.

In the event of an owner’s failure to carry coverage, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) may require an SR22 as future proof issued from an auto insurance company licensed to do business in Arizona and the law requires the owner to maintain the SR22 for three years from the date of the suspension without a lapse in coverage.

A deductible is the amount of cost you are required to pay in the event of a paid claim by your carrier.

An example would be a $500 deductible on a $2,000 claim to repair your auto in the event of a collision. What this means is that the auto insurance carrier pays $1,500 and you pay $500.

The key to insurance deductible limits is your ability to absorb some of the costs in the event of a claim. The more you can absorb in terms of the claim payout, the less your premium is going to be.

The “right deductible” is a matter you control. Deductibles can typically be in amounts of $250, $500, $1,000 and even more.

Talk to Weber’s Insurance about your deductible and its impact on your auto insurance premium.

We want you to know, however, that home owner’s insurance is marketed in many shapes and varieties for all types of people who live in all types of situations.

Whether you are an apartment dweller or you reside in a 10,000 square foot home, the real test of great home owner’s insurance is how it meets your needs and risks.

Selecting a company and coverage, including deductible and any specialty coverages can be tricky.

The central question about home owner’s insurance is “What do I have at risk in and around my home?” Do I have antique furniture, expensive wall treatments, figurines, valuable jewelry, weapons and perhaps gold bards stashed under the bed? Each of these are risk factors.

But what about the home itself? What if there is a fire, burglary or a flood? Will my policy replace my home and if so, to what standard of value and how will the value be determined? If you home is damaged by fire, where will you live while it is repaired or replaced and who pays for those costs?

Accidental damages and injury to those who enter your property are also factors to be considered when investing in home owner’s insurance.

There are even riders for home offices, equipment and personal and business computers, glass coverage and medical coverages that can be built into a home owner’s insurance policy.

At Weber’s Insurance we advise that you review your home owner’s insurance policy annually and that you allow us to give your several quotes from different carriers. This empowers you to select the best coverage that meets your needs.

According to Bill Weber, President of Weber’s Insurance, “There is a lot of confusion and emotion about insurance today and most of it is counter-productive to consumers knowing what products they actually need and how to find those products at competitive prices so we decided to create a more transparent approach to our business with a lot of up-to-date information, blog posts, online workshops and other solutions where consumers can play an active role in the process of securing their insurance coverages.”

The new Weber’s Insurance web site incorporates insurance related blog posts with commenting opportunities, email newsletters and online workshops where consumers can learn about health care insurance, auto insurance pricing and business coverages in a pro-active, non-sales environment.

“We want deliver unfiltered information to our customers and allow them to participate in the process,” said Weber. Weber stated, “We will be taking our insurance services into the world of Twitter and Facebook which is where the consumer is spending time.”

Weber’s Internet initiative will be at full operating capacity sometime in the fourth quarter of 2010 and will become its central marketing and information piece.
