At Weber’s Insurance we do two wheelers! Yes, we can provide Prescott, Arizona bikers with the best, most affordable motorcycle insurance.

So, for you road warriors who would rather 2-wheel than 4-wheel, we can make sure your bundle-of-joy (uh, the bike, not the baby!) is fully covered for collision, theft and other forms of damage. And we are not just talking about those big Harley Hogs with huge pipes; we can also cover your home-to-office Moped and the family ATVs.

But before you start your bike’s engine contact Weber’s Insurance to discuss your motorcycle insurance coverage.

Please allow us to suggest some motor-cycling safety tips that will make your rides safer and a whole lot more fun.

Keep a Clear Head. Please, use a helmet at all times. Motorcycle accidents expose you to additional physical risk and we recommend your wear a Department of Transportation certified helmet so you don’t damage your noggin if you go down. A helmet can increase your chances of surviving a motorcycle accident.

Put a well-fitting and comfortable helmet on your head every time you ride; a full-face helmet can protect your eyes, nose and mouth. Please, find a motorcycle helmet you like and strap it on before you fire-up your two-wheeler for a spin.

Get Some Motorcycle Accessories. We don’t necessarily recommend you wear leathers during every ride, but having protective boots, gloves, pants and a jacket specifically designed for bikers can provide some additional safety.

Leather is by far the preferred clothing for bikers and not just because it looks cool but because it can provide an extra layer of tough protection. So, be cool, like the Fonz, and wear protective clothing every time you ride.

Get Noticed on the Road. When you ride, be seen by other drivers on the road. Many motorcycle accidents occur because automobile drivers fail to see motorcyclists.

Brighten up you road show. Wear bright, reflective clothing and remember, keep the headlight on at all times.

Slow down and signal every move you are making. Get noticed at all times and you will improve your safety. Operate your motorcycle as if no one can see you.

Assume you are invisible at all times. When you ride, chances are, you are the smallest vehicle on the road. Make others notice you by taking positive actions to be seen.

Understand your Cycle. Before you strap on the leathers and helmet be certain you know your machine, top-to-bottom.

If you are new to motorcycling, practice, practice, practice, then, practice some more in areas with limited traffic so that you can become familiar with your bike’s personality.

You bike’s personality has a lot to do with its weight, power, size, stopping distance at various speeds and color.

Before you hit the road become completely comfortable with controlling your machine at stops, in traffic and especially when turning in front of oncoming traffic. Oh, one more thing…practice riding in the rain at low speeds. Road conditions will change your bike’s operating performance dramatically. We don’t recommend you ever ride in snow…YIKES!

According to Bill Weber, President of Weber’s Insurance, “There is a lot of confusion and emotion about insurance today and most of it is counter-productive to consumers knowing what products they actually need and how to find those products at competitive prices so we decided to create a more transparent approach to our business with a lot of up-to-date information, blog posts, online workshops and other solutions where consumers can play an active role in the process of securing their insurance coverages.”

The new Weber’s Insurance web site incorporates insurance related blog posts with commenting opportunities, email newsletters and online workshops where consumers can learn about health care insurance, auto insurance pricing and business coverages in a pro-active, non-sales environment.

“We want deliver unfiltered information to our customers and allow them to participate in the process,” said Weber. Weber stated, “We will be taking our insurance services into the world of Twitter and Facebook which is where the consumer is spending time.”

Weber’s Internet initiative will be at full operating capacity sometime in the fourth quarter of 2010 and will become its central marketing and information piece.

Medicare supplemental health insurance is confusing and may seem to be overwhelming to many. Maybe this will help. There are two major categories of supplemental plans: government designed plans and government contracted plans.

Government designed plans are the Medicare Supplements or Medigap policies. They come in 12 standard choices with two of the choices available with a simple modification. The choices are called Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, Plan D, Plan E, Plan F, Plan G, Plan H, Plan I, Plan J, Plan K and Plan L and the modified plans are the High Deductible Plan F and the High Deductible Plan J.

As the letters increase from A to J, the coverage generally increases and the premiums are generally higher. Plans K and L are lower coverage and lower cost alternatives. The high deductible versions simply impose a deductible before the insurance company pays any benefits as a way to cut your health insurance premium costs.

One important thing to remember. You don’t have to waste much time trying to figure out which company’s Plan F Medicare Supplement is better than the other company’s. The government designed the coverage and the insurance company is just providing the benefits. Cost is the only difference between two or more Plan F policies other than customer service and quality of company issues.

Government contracted plans are the Medicare Advantage, Medicare Cost, Medicare PPO, and Medicare Private Fee For Service (PFFS) plans. For these plans, the insurance company and the government enter into a contract.

As a perhaps an oversimplification, the government essentially provides the money and the insurance company provides the benefits and plan administration. The concept is that private industry can offer more senior health benefits with the same money in exchange for some plan restrictions on your part, and they often do just that.

A Medicare Advantage Private Fee–for–Service plan works differently than a Medicare supplement plan. Your doctor or hospital can continue to treat you if it agrees to accept the insurance company’s terms and conditions of payment, and thus may choose not to treat you, with the exception of emergencies.

If your doctor or hospital does not agree to accept our payment terms and conditions, they may choose not to provide health care services to you, except in emergencies.
